Website Audit and Completion Proposal
Earthire is close, but not launch-ready yet.
A clear audit of the current WordPress draft and a practical proposal for 121 Group to complete the site, remove the remaining launch blockers, and prepare Earthire for a clean public release.
Executive Summary
The visual direction is strong and the core pages load, but the current draft still contains visible placeholder content, generic WooCommerce behaviour, legal copy that does not fit the business, and an apparent mobile navigation issue.
The site has a credible design base
Home, About, Blog and Contact are visually coherent on desktop. The brand presentation is clean, the core URL set returns HTTP 200, and the business positioning is directionally right for hire and ex-hire equipment sales.
The unfinished details are visible to customers
Placeholder product names, lorem ipsum copy, stock legal terms, social links to #, broken background requests, and a non-functional enquiry path make the draft feel incomplete.
Audit Evidence
Selected screenshots from the supervised browser audit. These are included so you can see the difference between what is already strong and what still needs completion.
Prioritised Findings
These are the issues 121 Group recommends resolving before Earthire is presented as production-ready.
Search indexing is disabled across the site
Every audited page includes noindex, nofollow. This is correct while in draft, but must be deliberately changed at launch. Canonicals and social metadata also point to the temporary myftpupload.com host.
Placeholder content remains visible
Home includes lorem ipsum, the testimonial is unfinished, Hire includes Hire 1, Hire 2, Hire 3 and Lorem Ipsum, and category pages show placeholder products.
Terms of Hire is generic and unsuitable
The terms page refers to U.S. territories, sales tax, state law, merchandise shipping and district courts. This should be replaced with Earthire-specific Queensland hire terms, subject to your approval and legal review if required.
Mobile menu appears off-screen
The hamburger control is visible, but the off-canvas menu opened outside the 390px mobile viewport during browser testing. This should be fixed and manually retested on iPhone and Android widths.
Product and enquiry flow is inconsistent
Buy listing buttons labelled Enquire point to #. Buy product detail pages show both Enquire and Add To Cart. Hire product pages show price but no clear primary action beside the product detail.
Footer and trust details need finishing
Social icons point to #, the GoDaddy Design Services badge is visible sitewide, the category dropdown is unlabeled, and generic WooCommerce pages need Earthire-specific guidance.
Technical clean-up is required
Home/About request broken pseudo-image URLs such as highlight-14_background_image. Hire and Buy include missing image alt text and product category pages have empty meta descriptions.
Launch Readiness Snapshot
The site does not need a full rebuild. It needs a disciplined completion pass that resolves content, WooCommerce, SEO and mobile quality issues.
| Area | Current state | Launch requirement |
|---|---|---|
| Core design | Directionally strong on desktop and mobile. | Keep design, tighten spacing and final polish. |
| Content | Placeholder copy and product names remain visible. | Replace with Earthire-specific copy, product data and CTAs. |
| Hire / Buy flow | Mixed WooCommerce and enquiry behaviours. | Choose one clear customer flow and make every button support it. |
| Legal / terms | Generic U.S. boilerplate. | Replace with suitable Queensland hire terms and client-approved policy wording. |
| SEO | Noindex enabled; temporary domain in metadata. | Set production domain, metadata, sitemap, robots and category descriptions. |
| Mobile QA | No horizontal overflow, but mobile menu test failed. | Fix and retest menu, product pages, forms, cart and account pages. |
Proposal: Complete the Earthire Site
121 Group's recommended approach is a focused completion sprint, not a redesign. The goal is to make the existing site launch-ready quickly and cleanly.
Content completion
Replace lorem ipsum, testimonial placeholders, generic section copy and weak CTAs with Earthire-specific content written for builders, contractors and Sunshine Coast customers.
Hire and buy catalogue
Populate real product/category names, images, descriptions, availability notes, pricing or POA language, and category descriptions across the visible catalogue.
Enquiry and cart flow decision
Resolve whether Earthire is enquiry-led, cart-led, or hybrid. Update listing buttons, product templates, empty cart guidance, account pages and form routing accordingly.
Mobile and technical fixes
Fix the mobile off-canvas menu, broken background image references, image alt text, visible badge/placeholder links, and desktop spacing issues on My Account.
SEO launch preparation
Prepare titles, meta descriptions, category descriptions, canonicals, sitemap, robots settings, Open Graph data and production-domain checks for launch.
Final QA and handover
Complete desktop/mobile QA, test core links and forms, review WooCommerce edge cases, document any known constraints and provide a simple launch checklist.
Delivery Plan
Indicative timeline once you provide final equipment details, service terms, social URLs and launch-domain direction.
Confirm direction
Agree hire/buy customer flow, catalogue structure, required pages, social links, legal terms source and production-domain plan.
Complete content
Rewrite placeholder sections, complete product/category content, replace placeholders and refine the main conversion path.
Fix and polish
Resolve mobile nav, broken assets, footer links, WooCommerce pages, SEO metadata and accessibility basics.
QA and launch pack
Complete final cross-device QA, prepare launch checklist, provide handover notes and make the site ready for publication approval.
Indicative Investment
The recommended option is the middle tier, because it completes the current site without adding unnecessary launch complexity.
Launch blocker clean-up
Remove placeholders on key pages
Replace visible lorem ipsum, unfinished testimonial copy, placeholder labels and obvious draft content on the main public pages.
Fix mobile menu issue
Correct the off-canvas hamburger menu so it opens inside the mobile viewport, then retest at common phone widths.
Fix broken image references
Remove or repair the broken page-builder background URLs identified in the audit, including highlight and benefit image tokens.
Basic SEO launch checklist
Review noindex/indexing status, temporary-domain metadata, sitemap/robots basics and page title/meta readiness before launch.
Best for minimal scope only
Suitable if you only want the most visible launch blockers removed, without a full catalogue or conversion-flow completion pass.
Site completion sprint
Everything in Option A
Includes the critical launch-blocker clean-up: placeholders, mobile menu fix, broken image references and basic SEO launch checks.
Complete page copy and CTAs
Rewrite unfinished or generic copy across the visible site and make each call-to-action clear, practical and linked to the correct next step.
Hire/Buy flow refinement
Decide whether Hire and Buy are enquiry-led, cart-led or hybrid, then align product cards, product pages, buttons and forms around that journey.
Visible catalogue completion pass
Replace visible placeholder product names, add short product/category descriptions, clean category pages, add alt text and apply pricing or POA wording.
Footer, social and WooCommerce clean-up
Fix social links, footer navigation, GoDaddy badge visibility where possible, empty cart messaging, account-page prominence and WooCommerce labels.
Final QA and handover checklist
Run a final desktop/mobile QA pass, check forms and links, confirm no visible placeholders remain, and provide a simple launch handover checklist.
Completion plus launch foundation
Everything in Option B
Includes the full site completion sprint: copy, CTAs, Hire/Buy flow, visible catalogue pass, WooCommerce clean-up and final QA.
GA4/GTM event setup
Set up basic measurement for key customer actions such as contact form starts/submits, click-to-call, email clicks and core CTA clicks.
Local SEO launch pack
Prepare local search basics including production metadata checks, location/service wording, schema review and Google Business Profile alignment notes.
Two launch blog articles
Write and publish two practical launch articles aligned to Earthire's audience, such as hire tips, equipment selection or local project readiness.
Post-launch 30 day support window
Provide light post-launch support for small fixes, tracking checks and launch issues discovered after the site is made public.
Assumption: pricing includes completion of the current visible site structure and a practical catalogue pass. Large-scale product loading, custom legal drafting, paid ad setup, photography and ongoing hosting/maintenance are outside this estimate unless added separately.
Client Inputs Needed
The completion sprint can move quickly once the following items are confirmed.
Business and catalogue details
- Final equipment categories and product names.
- Hire rates, sale prices, POA wording or pricing rules.
- Availability, delivery area and licence/operation requirements.
- Preferred product photos or permission to use current imagery.
Trust and operational details
- Confirmed phone, email, hours and service radius.
- Real social profile URLs or decision to hide icons.
- Terms of hire, privacy policy and refund/cancellation position.
- Production domain and indexing approval.
Recommended next step
Approve Option B, confirm the hire/buy customer flow, and provide the catalogue/legal inputs. 121 Group can then complete the current Earthire draft into a polished, launch-ready website without restarting the build.
